Northboro/Southboro Youth Lacrosse Dedicated to the education and training of student athletes in the sport of lacrosse |
Lacrosse, a game originated by the North American Indians and currently one of the fastest growing sports in the country, is now being
played at the youth level for the first time in Northborough and Southborough, Masssachusetts.
The 2000 season begins with two age 12 and under teams and one age 14 and under team.
We play under the auspices of the Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League which includes 237 teams from 72
The goals of youth lacrosse in the MBYLL are geared more for learning and having fun and less on competition.
There are no scores reported, no standings kept, and no playoffs held.
Northborough and Southborough Youth lacrosse Association (NSYLA) goals are to teach the game of lacrosse, develop lacrosse skills, teach good sportsmanship, and have fun.
Game & practice location:
All NSYLA teams will practice and play their home games at St Mark’s School in Southborough. See the schedules below for game schedules and times.

Practices for the 12 and under teams is from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Monday and Wednesday and from 9:00am to 10:30am on Saturdays.
For the 14 and under players, practice is from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 10:30am to noon on Saturdays.
Coaches
for the 12U teams are: Brian Cooke, Bob Flynn, Steve Rice, Skip McGrail, and Mike Jackson
The 14U team is being coached by Phil Lockwood and Bob Macchi.
An additional coach or two are welcome on the 14U team.
Games
Played on Sundays. A few may be added during the week as the season progresses.
We begin on April 2, 2000 and play each week through June 4, 2000, with a Jamboree scheduled for June 10 and 11, 2000.
No games are scheduled on Easter, April 23, 2000.

FROM POINTS EAST:
Mass. Pike I-90 to exit 12;
then take Route 9 west 2.9 miles to Route 85 north;
travel on Route 85 for about 1 mile,
continue through the Rte 85/Rte 30 traffic light
and then take a left at the next light;
bear left, field is just up ahead.

FROM POINTS NORTH OR SOUTH:
Route 495 to exit 23A/Route 9 east (towards Southborough);
travel on Route 9 for 2.3 miles to Route 85 north;
travel on Route 85 for about 1 mile,
continue through the Rte 85/Rte 30 traffic light
and then take a left at the next light;
bear left, field is just up ahead.

FROM POINTS WEST:
Mass. Pike I-90 to exit 11A (495); take Route 495 north;
then take first exit, exit 23A/Route 9 east (towards Southborough);
travel on Route 9 for 2.3 miles;
then take Route 85 north for about 1 mile;
continue through the Rte 85/Rte 30 traffic light
and then take a left at the next light;
bear left, field is just up ahead.
*** PARKING ALERT ***
Parking is allowed only on ONE SIDE of the road by the field (per Fire
Dept. order). Additional parking is available across the street (Rte.
85) by the athletic center.
Medway Youth LAX plays at the new Memorial Upper field, adjacent to the girls’ softball field, behind the Memorial Elementary School. It is located off of Center St., which you access from Village St. in Medway.
Take I-495 to Exit 19, Rt. 109 Medway Milford. Take Rt. 109 East toward Medway. At the second traffic light, go straight, onto Franklin St. At the next stop sign, turn left onto Village St. Follow approximately 1.5 miles to Center St., on your left. Turn left onto Center St. and follow the to end (cul de sac). Park in the lot on your right at the end of Center St. The LAX field is behind the adjacent softball field.
Take the Mass Pike East to 128.
Proceed through the toll plaza towards 128N.
Prior to getting on 128 N take Route 30 West exit.
Proceed approximately 2 miles to Weston High School which is located on the left hand side of Route 30.
Fields are located at the High School.
